Ok folks, I need your help. I have a White S2k on order. It had a target manufacture date of May 15. As of yesterday it has not been posted as manufactured yet. The dealer is telling me they expect it delivered to the dealership the second week of June, they are sticking to this date. I am very doubtful of this information. I can get another S2k at another dealership for MSRP but not in white. I really want white but I am not willing to wait until July to get it. For those of you that have been in my situation how long of a wait was it from manufacture until delivery?

Hey Dave,

I got mine from a dealer in Lansing, MI. It was a month after the manufacture date. Sorry. Mine may have been a little slower because it was December and weather was an issue.

Worse case scenario 6-8 weeks total: 3-4 week from Japan to the US, 3-4 weeks from Portland OR to here......well for those of us on the East Coast anyway....mine took 3 1/2 weeks to get from Oregon to Virginia

my dealer told me that it was transfered from california to jacksonville florida by train. and then car transport to them in tallahassee. so i would suspect that cars going to the east coast would be by train to a large shipping area.

Dave,

Why not get the white one that Barry's dealership in WY. has on the sales floor? It's a great time of the year for a road trip in a new car.

If you have your heart set on a white S, then get a white one, forget about the other colors. White is the rarest color but it's out there, you just have to find it. With all the resources at your disposal (phone, email, s2000online.com), it shouldn't be that hard to find one. Getting a S2000 takes more than just money, it takes perseverance, dedication and a bit of luck to find the perfect one out there. The search can be agonizing at times but the reward is well worth it.

I agree with Mister_Two. My shopping took nearly seven months. And as luck would have it my local dealer had a depositor back out for me to be in line to get an allocation received on the April 27 order. The car is expected in July. White/Red BTW. Don't know what to think of the dealer stories of they get what Honda wants them to get & not what they order in terms of color. My dealer said that of the 20 they've ordered since 99 all have been color requested however, mine is the first W/R they've ordered. I'm going to take my deposit & go elsewhere if my car gets here & is any other color but White.
