Default Identification of stock wheels

How can I tell if a stock wheel is the front or rear? I have no tires and no other wheels to compare against.

Thanks.

He doesn't have a wheel to comare it to.

Measure across the rim, if it's 6.5" then it's a front wheel, 7.5" it's a rear wheel

dude, he shouldn't need to measure, lay them down flat whichever one is higher is the back wheel.

them, what them?! hes only got one... read....

measure it. and it will be wider then 6.5 if im not mistaken(just the way wheels are made), will be 6.5 from the inside across. but lip to lip would be more like 7 or 8. measure it.

Look on the inside. One of the spokes should have some numbers embossed. If it says 16x6 1/2 JJ 59 then it's a front. 16x7 1/2 JJ 65 is the rear. You can see pictures here.

It's in the interpretation of that sentence. I interpreted it as he has no other wheels or tires (other brands or tires) lying around that he can use to measure or do a depth comparison with.

For example if he had an 8 inch BBS wheel that he wanted to lie side by side in comparison to. I am not saying I interpreted it right but that's how I interpreted his sentence.

Thanks everyone for the replies and sorry for the confusion. Yes, I only have one stock wheel so nothing to measure it against. I could pull my wheels off my "S" but I wanted a quick way to tell cause I tried looking around the wheel for some type of code and there was nothing. Obviously I didn't look hard enough. Thanks everyone.
