I'm with Ralper... though most worthwhile statements have already been stated... its almost as if this thread passes multiple generations within a few days...

not referring to the age of the participants... but how it began with one group arguing... that group settled... and a new group picked up where they left off.... and so on...

Quit entertaining indeed...

Well, every family has their own standards, and their own definition of "Earning" and "Deserving." We will never come to a consensus with this terminology, and will probably continue to disagree, but hey, everybody has their story and their own beliefs...

For example of the above mentioned, My dad did horribly in High school, and saw that it got him nowhere. He had no incentive. So, now he has worked VERY hard from being help in his father's auto repair shop, an electrician, to now a quality control superintendent for one of the largest construction companies in the US. He felt the lack of incentive, education, and care from his parents inhibited him from getting the best in life. He did not want that happening to any of his children, and now he provides us with the luxuries and opportunities that he did not get.

I don't understand what point you're trying to make.

I was just trying to say that People have their own definitions of what "Earning" and "Deserving" are, and that the S was my parents way of showing that I had "Earned" the Car and they felt I was "Deserving" of it. My parents version of "Earning" something and "Deserving" something may be different than what your version/definition of "Earning" and "Deserving" are.

Nice try Joe. What chaseabryant was referring to was the fact you said aloud was not a word. You originally said that aloud was not a word, but I see you edited your original statement to say that vietwhatever used it in the wrong context (which he did). You were wrong as well, but you changed your post.

Glass houses and all....
