Honda knows about this problem. Are you having trouble getting them to acknowledge it?

I did a post about this a while ago, titled "Anyone having trouble shifting into first gear?" at http://www.s2000online.com/forums/showthre...p?threadid=5945 There were 27 replies there.

To see if the problem was oil related, I recently had the transmission oil replaced; however, that hasn't improved anything. The service tech also said that he had not heard anything back from American Honda about any reports of this kind of problem. (BTW, I forgot to mention in my post that I also have some difficulty shifting cleanly into reverse gear.)

I happens to me frequently. First and second are a pain to get into, especially when its cold.

I brought the car to my local dealer and went on a test ride with a mechanic and he thought everything was fine. This problem really bothers me but I want someone knowledgable about my car to perform the fix.

BTW, my car has about 18k miles on it now.

My is brand new... sooo yes.. it is hard to shift 1 , 2, reverse.. My reverse back then I have to use TWO Hands use to put it in reverse. Now is not so bad, still a little force to be use..

Then 1st and 2nd is also a little bit force too. Before I go anywhere, I just do a Shift in neutral from 1 to 6 and reverse to get it loosen up a little then drive.

The S have dual gear plate on 1st and 2nd that is why I believe is kind of hard to get it in... I don't know about the reverse, but maybe it too also have dual plate that why it hard.
