If you had to do it all over again...
I love my s, but I rushed into purchasing it as well. The paint is not the greatest, but it has low miles and the drive train is stout. If I had to do it again, I would have kept my daily and bought a used, possibly salvaged titled s2k to use as a track car. It brings a smile to my face everyday though and I couldn't imagine not daily driving one. I would buy a second as a track car, but then my wife would probably take it and keep it for herself, lol.
Sometimes I wish I had waited a bit more, I've seen some pretty good deals on s2ks lately.

I did my research first and waited for the right deal to pop up. It came up and I snagged the exact year in the exact color I wanted in the mileage category that I could afford at the time.
I kind of wish I didn't rush into modding it as fast as I did. I wish I would have just supercharged it right off the bat rather than going N/A

I had a couple deals go through and I guess they weren't meant to be, because the one I got was amazing in and out. Definitely wouldn't change a thing. Even the price was a steal. Got approval from Billman and Luis (both local S2K mechanics) afterwards.
Took 3 months to find and was time well spent. I still want a GPW with red/black interior next though. One day.

i found the exact year and color combo i wanted with low mileage.... 08 GPW w/ red interior and 28k miles BUT,
sometimes i wish i bought like an 06 with higher mileage not as in good shape for a lower price because i find myself wanting to keep my car super clean all the time, and i cringe at the sound of rocks kicking up to my bumper when me and my friends go on cruises and one of them is in front of me
but at the end of the day in my mind i have the nicest s2000 ever!

I wish I had done more research.
I would have stayed with an AP1 but I would have gotten a 2003 instead.
Which meant I would have gotten all the first gen fixes including a glass rear window instead of the crappy plastic one on my 2001.
I also ended up buying a car with the well known axle issue and had to replace both axles.
Overall though I happy with my car.

I love my 2001 as is, but I do wish I had at least gotten a 2002. Researching more would have been a great idea...

If you could go back to the time you were in the market for an S2000, would you still go with the one you currently own?
Absolutely.

I almost wrote that I was agreeing with this statement, but...
I certainly added stuff to mine but the question is "would you still go with the one you currently own"?
