Default I'm having trouble finding a replacement rear window - am I missing something?

The time has finally come to replace my AP1 plastic rear window. Looking into it on sites like Robbin's, I'm see a bunch of replacement tops (with window) - but I'm not seeing JUST the window?

Is anywhere selling just the window I need or is it all entire tops now?

Thanks for any help guys.

There is a Honda PN in the TSB link, looks like a ton of work for just the window. Might be better off replacing the top?

You're talking about the plastic rear window or the updated glass one?

Thanks for the link.

Yeah, I know it is - I was just looking so possibly save a few bucks. My top is actually in pretty good shape (always covered or garage kept), but the rear plastic developed a crack (on top of being foggy). It's an '00 AP1 w/ only 40,000mi. on it - so you can imagine how often it's lived under a cover or in-garage. When I did drive it, it was usually top-down or nighttime...

If I was keeping the car, I'd surely do the whole top, but I'm going to sell it - hence saving the cash, instead of doing upgrades it doesn't really need. I was going to keep it and go hardtop, but now that I've decided I'm going to let it go that seems silly to do.

I've owned the car for ~8 years and I remember years back (I've lurked forever here), people were posting links to cheaper aftermarket windows that seems to not be available anymore?

Well, at this point, I'd be happy with a cheaper plastic one to save the cash on a car I'm not really going to drive anymore. But, either would do, and if the glass wasn't massively more - I'd go with that so a new owner could enjoy the glass upgrade.

Yep, I'd swap to glass if I were in the OP's shoes.

If I was selling I might sell as is and let the buyer make the call.

You know that's an interesting and valid angle.

That being said, my S2K is a clean silver AP1, un-molested/fully stock (other than wheels), well-maintained, 40,000mi. I feel like it would be very odd to be selling an S2000 of that caliber, with that clean history (2nd owner as of '09), as "as-is" (in the sense it has an issue). Wouldn't you agree? I may be way off and a prospective buyer wouldn't care, I don't know.

I'd probably go glass, because, what buyer would want the plastic? Provided it wasn't a massive difference in cost - I'd do that.

Regardless, I'm still not seeing where I can even get one. I'm sure Honda can charge me some outrageous price for one, but I swore I remember seeing places selling them a few years back for reasonable prices...

Thanks again everyone.

I'm in SE PA, Phily burbs.

I'd imagine it's just that glass one would buy (as far as what's needed to complete installation)? I can look into it myself, I just haven't yet.

I'd really appreciate that man. I'd happily pay shipping and kick you money on top of it.
