So this morning my idiot girlfriend pushed my leg down when i put the car in reverse, and well i dropped the clutch at about 4k rpm....how bad is this on my car??

 

not bad at all, just don't do it repeatedly, it'll damage your differential...

 

4K isnt terribly bad, but extened "clutch dumping 4+ k" will increase the wear and thus shorten the life of your clutch and other componets of the drive line...the stories vary from lucky to very unlucky from repeated clutch dumps...so its one of those things where you decide how much those increased launches are worth.

in other words, if you dont want to break any thing, keep em down, but every now and then shouldnt kill her. but watch out , i hear those 6k dumps get ADDICTIVE!!!

 

Time for a new girlfriend....they are cheaper to replace than
a bad clutch (ok, that was horrible, but my sense of humour
is stuck on 'dry' lately)
