immobilizer issue?
Quite possibly starting to have an issue with your key. If you're somewhat tech savvy, take the key apart and take a look at the immobilizer and check for any defects or burnt/broken PCM parts. Hopefully it was just a fluke!
Do you have a spare? Keep the space on you and continue using the potential problem key. If you get a key light again swap keys and see if it goes away. If that ends up being the problem get a new key to replace the bad one.
Had a similar issue a few years ago, swapping keys didn't work. Replaced the immobilizer and resolved the issue. It was a little difficult to remove and replace...but in the end it was plug and play, no reprogramming necessary.
As with anything electronic, "re-seat" the plug a couple times first (maybe add dielectric grease or deoxit to the pins), before resorting to buying and replacing entire parts/components.
(this is commonly done in analog music studio equipment [my other long-time hobby])
Could be as simple as a little corrosion on connectors/plugs. You'd be surprised how common this is and how many things this fixes (90% of the time too).
