Randy is usually pretty good about getting back to people - unless he's tied up somewhere.

I personally have very little to do with IDi anymore in terms of daily ops - Randy runs it, it's his baby. Actually sometimes I have a hard time getting hold of him

Randy, where are you?

I have yet to have a negative experience with Randy. You guys should give him a break. For all we know, maybe his computer broke-down and he has no way of checking his messages or he had an emergency in the family. After all, you guys are buying products from him, right? Why would he NOT want the money? When ever I post a WTB thread, I can honestly tell you that 75% of the time I receive a PM from Randy trying to help me out with what I need. When I'm looking for a product he doesn't carry, he'll give me advice on where to get what I need. The last time I sent him a PM in regards to a product I was looking for was about a week and a half ago. I got a response in less than 24 hours. So take my word for it; if he's not responding to your messages, don't get offended. He's busy.

Maybe you didn't read my reply..... he never replied and was posting to the boards in the same 3-4 day period that I kept trying to get a hold of him. He never even acknowledged anything.

I posted a thread asking for opinions about the service, although I did not specifically mention him or the company name. I got a few responses and lots of PMs asking for more details and tales of their problems as well.

He may be busy, but he shouldn't be posting on the boards and not replying at the same time

Scot,

I have not had a word from Schatten for more than three weeks. He's got my money (VAFC + harness), but I have no info on shipping status etc.

I'm not offended, I'm worried...

I have been following ths thread with some interest but I have refrained from posting until I read the above quote. I also have a VAFC + Harness that has already been paid for but have not received (4 weeks), but I DID in fact reach somebody at ID about 10 days ago and was told they would be shipping out "soon" . I don't remember who answered the phone. I remember being told they had all the parts and just needed to finish up wiring or something. Oddly enough I was offered a refund but I declined. I really want my VAFC. Still waiting. I still have confidence in them as they have been around awhile, but I'm a little "concerned" I have to admit.

DesertRat and Parkerdw, he's building VAFCs every time I go over to his house recently, so it's not a matter of you getting screwed. He lives near me and I talk to him often, so I'll let him know about this thread...

I did try schetten-left him a voice mail with my cell phone on their answering machine-with no return call. Sounds like a lot of problems over at I. D. ! I am in business and I would never think anything in the world is more important than returning customer's phone calls-too busy is an excuse that won't fly with me. Is there anywhere else I can get this filter? Somewhere business is appreciated?

Unfortunately I sealed a deal with Mr. JR himself on the S2000 filters (this is back 2+ years ago).

There are other options out there for replacement filters such as the K&N.

You may want to also check Mr. Gasket's website for one of their divisions that's doing filters - they may have an application for the S. I also have a few friends still in the industry whom I know has their own filter company that's coming out with some general applications.

Sorry I can't be of more help but as I said IDi is Randy's now and I know he's not the type to run and disappear so there must be good reason(s) for it.

Randy here, Chiming in. Yes, its been a gawd awful busy week for IDi.

if you called: If you called and there was no answer - I was on the other line. The phone has not stopped ringing all week. Sometimes I have to figure out which is best - do I not return someone's phone call, or do I take the next call.

if you PM'ed: I'll try to respond today - before I leave town. I have to meet up with a side of my family for a much belated holiday season / engagement party. I'll be back late Sunday night and some of the harnesses will be shipping out Monday & Tuesday of this week.

Regarding the JR Filters - I have many on backorder already. I currently have none in stock. I'm _still_ waiting on a shipment from overseas and still... nothing. The filters were supposed to be here in December, and then it was January - I'm being told different stories and trying to find out just where the heck they are.

Regarding the VAFC's & Harnesses - yeup, about ready to start shipping out - like I said, starting Monday & Tuesday. My fingers are blistered and almost bloody to a pulp from making them. I've also outsourced some of the harnesses and will evalute quality control to see if they do pass the tests.

Refunds - some have requested refunds because of the time it has taken me to produce the harnesses and ship out the vafcs. some have been issued. others - I've either received a pm, an email - and neither correlate to a specific person or existing order number - so I'll try to communicate the best I can with you, so you can provide me with the correct details and those will be issued as soon as possible.

Scot - thanks for your support man. I responded to your last rant, and you never commented back. I'm glad you still like to bring up the problems we had. There are a few other vendors out there that you can purchase brake pads through - although a bit more expensive - they can sell them to you. But I do suggest you swap them out yourself in case you run into any issues out at the track. I can't tell you how many pads I've swapped out for others - not just me - at the track, because they cook the R4S's out there. They work for a lot of people, but rally style, or bat out of hell style, they will end up on the side of the car.

Schatten- thanks for responding. I would never run a K&N on anything, might as well run no filter! I am, however, willing to pay and wait for the JR. I am understanding imported parts are hard to get, and this is the filter I want and am willing to get on the list and wait. Please PM me and let me know how I can accomplish this. Thanks, Phil
