Important Notice to LA County Drivers
Hey fellow S2K Owners,
This morning I got pulled over by the LA County Sheriff, not for speeding or any other traffic infraction, but for no front license plate. (Yea I know it's illegal). They issued a fix-it ticket. The dumb thing was they were just sitting facing traffic (no radar) and pulled out specifically to ticket me.
I later learned that they are on a campaign to ticket cars without front plates. I bet it's because all the photo radar being setup in the county.
These Deputies must have been a bit dumb. The first one asked, what type of car is that. I explained it's a Honda. Then they asked yea but what kind...S2000. Then he pointed to the roll bar and asked what's that, I explained. And they said just a moment and returned to their cruiser. The other deputy returned and with her ticket book for me to sign the ticket. She asked again, what type of car is that...I explained again.
Kind of strange, the ticket still shows a 2000 Honda but no model. They also never asked for proof of insurance or for my registration.
So be warned if you don't have a front plate you may be next.

Yeah, a motocycle cop made a u-turn just to pull me over for no front license plates. He didn't give me a ticket, but mentioned that they are really enforcing that law now!

Weird, I got a speeding ticket going down Hawthorne Blvd, last week and the sheriff didn't ask for my registration or insurance either. I also didn't have my front license plate on, but the cop didn't say anything about it.

The only time i got pulled over for no front plate was in LA...in fact...twice. While i'm at it, i also got pulled over for doing 70/65!!!!!!

With all the real crime, stealing, and REAL traffic offenders it is a shame how the LAPD has nothing better to do but to enforce stupid laws that will in no way cause any harm. It's a stupid law in my opinion. LA sucks with all it's stupid rules and its cops suck with it.
