Hi Guys,

I am looking for an S2000, probalbly 2000 or 2001. I was noticing here in Canada pricing on these is about 25K + TAX, wheras there seem to be plenty in the USA for between $14000-$16000 (or as little as 12,000-$14000 with salvage title). Thus, i am wondering if there is anyone in the forums who has bought a car from the USA and imported into Canada.

What costs are involved? What taxes need to be paid? Is it a REALLY hard process?

Ie. if you could give me an example of what, say a $14,000 USD car is going to cost (approx) once everything is said and done, that would help. Or let me know what your car cost to bring over!

... on paper it doesn't seem like hard work, but from what I've heard.. it actually is very time consuming and comes with many hassles....

$14,000 USD would equate to about...
x 1.25 (exchange)
x 1.21 (duties/tax/etc)
----------------------
$21,175 CAD + time, trip fees, hassles
