the ARC is more of a "hot air" intake than stock. the purpose of it is not for hp gain but for improved throttle response. i think its more of a show peice.

i have had several intakes other than stock
1.stock with k&n filter
2.prm
3.comptech
stock with k&n is around $49.00
the others over 200.00.
buy used if you can i sold my prm for 100.00 and bought the comptech.
there really is not much hp to be found with intakes .but they are nice .
you can also direct more air from the front of the car to the intake box for cheap as well.kinda of ghetto but no one can see it and i know it works .

I would say for the money you have either find a really cheap used AEM or just insulate it like the cars that have been shown.
