I'm going to order the '02 style dead petal from HandA. There are no instructions posted on their site, but they do mention removing the carpet in the area. Is this difficult to do? Has anyone done it that can give me any tips? Thanks...

 

I just did it last week. It's not very difficult just a pain in the butt because of the small space you have to work in.

First, remove the old dead pedal. Then remove the door sill cover. Then pop out the plastic fastener holding down the plastic panel on the left side of the driver's footwell (the plastic fastener is located near the clutch pedal). That plastic panel can then be pulled out (I literally pulled it straight back), working it past the hood release, and letting it hang outside of the car. The carpet can then be peeled back enough to remove the bracket which the old dead pedal attached to. Install the new bracket and do everything in the reverse order.

Not very difficult at all.
