Default installing AUT cooling plate

2 questions:

1.) When installing the cooling plate i don't remove anything that'll be beneath the plate, right? i just undo the necessary bolts and bolt the cooling plate on?

2.) Does an authentic AUT cooling plate have any AUT or other markings on it? The one i just picked up is 100% unmarked.

Well, popular opinion is that you have to remove either part or all of the OEM radiator cooling plate to get any performance boost. If you really look at how air flows into the car, it will be beneficial to remove some of the OEM plate since you are cutting off air from over the top of the air box.

There's a thread on installing it somewhere around here... the OP took his OEM rad cooling plate out entirely, but I think that's overkill - just cut out a 4x6" or so hole on the passenger side to allow air up towards the stock intake. Just be careful not to cut into any of the pipes under the OEM plate if you do cut.

My cooling plate is unmarked - they all do the same thing, fitment seems to be the big issue when buying name brand or an eBay special, but construction quality is another - cheap plates will haze over and are not pure CF.

Cut a hole in the OEM plate or just remove it completely. There are no AUT markings on it (the AUT itself is actually a knockoff, so it can only be authentic to that extent )

Here it is: https://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.ph...f=133&t=308430

But thats a lot of steps for the total removal of the oem plate. To cut, just mark off and go at it, then install.
