if this is the first work you've done on your car, you're starting in the right place. it's easy stuff.
the hardest part when i did mine was getting the stock one off the rubber dealies underneath. have some type of lube handy in order to help get it off.
other tools you might need are various sockets and a torque wrench (not necessary if you can feel a torque out but helpful nonetheless).

Yes, lube is needed. Almost impossible without it. WD40 works fine. If I remember, it's like a 10mm or 12mm. There is some sort of straight cross brace near the diff that you need to remove to drop the stock exhaust too. Hit the three bolts where the exhaust meets the cat with the WD40 or some PB blaster a few minutes before you start, they tend to get frozen easy. Other than that its a half hour job.

Oh and to be safe if you are buying a new socket set, get deep. The threads MAY stick out too far near the cat connection. Cant remember, but just to be safe..

Oh, that 1/2 hour will turn into 1.5 hours (realistically), especially if this is your first project on the car. You won't just get under there and start turning nuts and bolts. The car won't magically put itself onto the jack stands and back down afterwards and tools don't magically put themselves away (clean) when you're done. You'll have prep time, clean up time, head scratching time when things don't go smoothly and when bolts are hard to get off or if they break (then you'll need hours to go get new ones). Rubber hangers that simply are a bitch to get off and onto the new exhaust.
That cross member has two different sizes of nuts and bolts and the cat bolt is possibly yet another size.
Having an assistance will make your project go a lot nicer.
