Insurance
What insurance do you guys have on your S?
I turn 19 in 2 weeks and am looking to get rid of my 03 Trailblazer for an S. Right now I'm still on my parents insurance and I pay $1500 and year for the Trailblazer, but if I get an S on my own insurace I will be paying around $4000 a year from either Geico or Progressive (Geico is $3500 a year with my Trailblazer)
I have no accidents that are my fault and 1 that I got rear ended in. Just looking for some advice or are these 2 about the average that I'm going to find?

A used S might be cheaper to ensure than a new one, what year are you looking at? Either way, this is one of the 10 most expensive cars to ensure. My insurance rates more than doubled, I was really annoyed. Since you're young and don't own a house that can be taken in a law suite, you can go for the minimum coverage.

I'm 24 and I pay $62/month with FULL coverage through State Farm. Also, the s2000 is only insured April (ish) - November since I drive my '05 Mitsu Endeavor in the winter.
I suppose I should say that the reason it's rather low (for my age) is because I have my homeowner's policy through them, snowmobile, my Endeavor and my s2000. I made 3 claims when I had my 2000 Yamaha R6, but none for a couple years now.

It's about age, location, your record and value of the car insured.
The only things you control are value of the car and your record.
Getting almost anything on the record will kill you rate wise.
So hang in there buddy.
Can't you get (or stay) hooked on to your folks insurance?
And the multiple policy thing does help, you know homeowners and car.
