Smile Insurance, any good recommendations?

My insurance co. sent me a letter, after inquiring about insuring my S, stating they don't normally insure 'high horsepower cars' but due to my clean driving record they will allow it. They also strongly urge me to reconsider driving such a car.

Only thing that did was make me reconsider going with these clowns. This doesn't make me feel confident they will stand beside me if something happens.

Anyone feel their insurer has taken good care of them and not treated them like some maniac running around strapped to a missile?

Travellers insurance, my fiance has them? Haven't heard good about State Farm. Progressive?

Thanks, I searched but didn't find much.

I have a good rate with Progressive. They've been great to deal with.

Who the heck do you have that is giving you a lecture on high power cars? So do they insure any Corvette's, Mustang GT's/Cobra's or Porsche's. BTW the S2k is not a high power car other than that it has a lb/hp ratio that is favorable. If you have served in the US military give USAA a try or try Geico or All State Ins.

Its Erie Insurance. I don't know if it is the agent or Erie that are being d'bags. The letter didn't have the agent's name on it, who by the way is a little flaky. I ripped them because they allowed my ex-mil to change my address on my account.

Any experience with Esurance? They have good rates. May go with Progressive, if I don't get good feedback about Esurance.

I've had good luck and low rates with Safeco. They've always taken care of me regardless of the car.

That being said, I've been with them since I was 17 so I've got gobs of renewal credit, etc etc.

I've been with Esurance for 2 years.

My wife flipped her Element and they were quick and prompt to take care of the issue. Since they outsource everything, everybody hussles to take care of you so that their contract with Esurance gets extended. Online insurance is great. Maybe you'll find a better deal at Geico, Progressive, or All State, but for me, Esurance had the best rates.
