Currently I have the everything except the RV and motorcycle with Travelers. They came up with the best rate for the complete package - homeowners/vehicles/umbrella. The service has been good. They paid for OEM parts when my cat was stolen so I could stay in a stock class for SCCA events.

Some of the deTomaso guys are getting their insurance through Barrett-Jackson. Apparently Barrett-Jackson has found some good rates.

http://www.wawanesa.com/

Look up or search about wawanesa on this website, alot of S2K owners go with this insurance for the lowest price and great service, even though it's not as WIDELY popular as others.

I have Erie and they gave me a killer rate. You agent must suck.
I was 21 when I was insurance shopping for the s2k. I was insured with Erie for 5 years under my parent's policy before I got my s2k. Only one minor speeding ticket, and no accidents. I had to get my own policy since the car was going to be titled in my name, and I was paying for everything anyway. When I got a quote for the S they gave me the same speech they gave the OP, and then quoted me something absurd like $4700/year for full coverage!!!!!

I politely told them they could take that offer and shove it. I am now insured with progressive at the same coverage rates for $2400/year. It's still a lot, but what's a young guy to do? I'm going to shop around again when my current policy is nearing expiration this june.

you, Erie.

Try inquiring at independent insurance brokers. They all represent several well known and a few lesser known companies and will compare for you and quote you a range of prices and terms. This can save you the aggrevation and time it takes to do this yourself.

Aside from USAA, which is not open to everyone, the insurer that continually tops the customer service / overall experience ratings is Amica.

It's a mutual company, so rather than shareholders it's "owned" by its policyholders.

Esurance was by far the cheapest for me. Much cheaper than Geico or anything else.
I'm thinking I may make this switch, I'm losing my biggest discount (Good Student) since I graduated and it's a huge chunk.

Esurance was $200 cheaper per 6 months WITH the Good Student discount applied.

Its Erie Insurance. I don't know if it is the agent or Erie that are being d'bags. The letter didn't have the agent's name on it, who by the way is a little flaky. I ripped them because they allowed my ex-mil to change my address on my account.

Any experience with Esurance? They have good rates. May go with Progressive, if I don't get good feedback about Esurance.
I used to have Erie insurance, they will not work with you at all. I clearly sent them a quote from progressive when I was shopping and they would NOT even attempt to match it. Mind you I was with them for 5 years prior to switching.

I found the lowest rate insuring my S and integra through progressive and with what little I have had to actually deal with them they are very prompt and polite! I would highly recommend progressive.

USAA was very helpful when they totaled out my car after the accident.
