Yeah well I been on Geico website trying to find a way to insure it and it seems that changing my location is the best way. I entered same specs 23 single male clean record and found lower rates in my cousins zip code but the lowest I could get it to was $529. It really frustrates me that I can not get a car because of insurance. Insurance is dumb anyway females get lower rates but are the ones texting, putting make up on while drinking their starbucks, looking for something at the bottom of their pocketbooks, and soccer moms fighting with their children but because I am a male under 25 although my record is clean I get charged an arm and a leg. Also the defensive driving course does nothing much for anyone but, a driver who goes to a driving school and learns car control and handling a vehicle in all types of situations get no credit towards insurance.
Females aren't most likely to floor it at stoplights when revved at by another car.

Thats why you are paying that much for insurance. Even if you had an old beater car you would still have to pay alot. You are at that age where the insurance people think you are at a risk. A long time ago, I bought a Datson 280Z. I loved that car, but everyone in town wanted at least $1200 a yr, and that was a lot back then. However I managed to get decent insurance with Liberty Mutual. I was 25 at that time. I dont think at 18 you will have a chance getting decent insurance.

When I added a second car to my original policy (a 1999 Jetta TDI), my insurance actually went down.

Now that I have 3 cars, if I drop the TDI, my insurance will actually go up about $100 every 6 months...

I second the get a beater car if you can.

Anyways, I'm 22 with 3 cars, an 07 GLI, the 04 S2000, and the 99.5 TDI and I pay about $130 a month.

oh you'd be surprised...i think women have more road rage than men.

and i think more women get into accidents than men but they're usually minor accidents...men i think get into more major accidents maybe that's why women have lower rates

My point is that guys tend to drive aggressively like they have something to prove. Women tend to be more distracted when driving.

Both sides are prone to road rage, buy guys worry more about messing up their ride (unless it's a beater).

Yeah, I'm generalizing. Next time at the street races, take a look at the racers and let me know the male/female ratio.
