Default Insurance Quote

I'm 18 and I have finally made enough money to purchase an 01-03 s2000, I got quoted from 3 different places all from $105-200 dollars a month does this even seem right for an 18 year old driving a sports car with a clean driving record?

there's soooo many variables on insurance... make sure you're comparing apples to apples, not apples to oranges when you're looking at different insurance quotes.

is that for comp/collision, or just liability? what levels of coverage? are you located in a city? suburb? rental/towing option? tort? these are ALL things that will change rates.

Comprehensive and collison account for more than 70% of the rate. your minimum coverage price quote is about right (high) for your age.

BTW.. how much is your car worth? Don't you think you need comprehensive/collision also?

+1.

This makes no sense to me.

you say you "finally made enough money to buy" the s2k.

But you're not willing to buy comp/collision coverage?

What happens if you get in a single car wreck and total it? You have no car. All that money down the drain, and you have to save up again to buy another car.

18 year old + sports car + good insurance coverage= expensive, no matter where you live.

If you can't afford good coverage for insurance, I would look at buying another car until you get a little older. But definitely DON'T go without comp/collision coverage.

WTH, even my vehicle registration fee doubled for an S.

If teenagers would stop driving maybe insurance will not be so hi for the rest of us.

You're paying more for liability only than I am for full coverage (100k/300k/100k) on my 02.

Doesn't sound that low to me, all things considered.
