Default insurance is trying to screw me over

hi recently i was involved in an accident... anyway they sent a apraiser to come look at my car last wed. they checked my car outside and they were supposed to check underneath of the car if there is any damage but since there was another car on the lift they skipped that ...... and i called the adjuster and requested for a check to me she said Yes...... but i wanted to get a final estimate after they check underneath of my car so i know how much total to fix my car completely .....

so i called the adjuster today...about sending me a check but she said she has to check underneath of my car and she told me to decide which shop im going to take it to,,, so she can send the apraiser again and have him estimate the damage underneath if there is .... so i asked her are you going to send the check to me after u find out what the total cost is
and she said she has to write a check to the shop not to me
the question is why does she change her mind and told me she is gonna send the check to the bodyshop???
does it matter? cuz i thought it doesnt really matter which shop i take my car to
i jsut wanna get all my final estimates and get a check from them

dont i have the right to get a check of final estimates???
she was saying that reason why she cant send the check to me is because she wouldnt know if there is gonna be any damage as the shop take it a part.
but i think after they look at my car underneath they should be able to what's damaged and how much to repair.......

what is that supposed to mean if she write a check to me and the bodyshop???
do i get to cash that check and pay the bodyshop or ? i dont get to see the money at all??

She is right, I don't see how she is screwing you. They are paying for your car to get fixed.

Shops usually don't require getting paid right away as long as you have insurance. I don't know how hurt your car is but a visual inspection of the out side of the car doesn't always tell you if the frame is damaged. The shop needs to take the cars damaged areas appart before they can give a final estimate on cost.

Insurance company's usually do not write you a check for the damage that you can cash. They send you a check but made out to the repair shop. I believe the idea behind this is to prevent insurance fraud.

If your car is financed, the check will go to the body shop. If it is paid for, you can get a check. I got a check for my old 3000 gt vr4 when someone scraped it in a parking lot.
