1555 6 mo/Male/VA/24 y/o
1 Speeding/1 reckless drving 20 mph over SL/1 accident at fault/prevoius car stolen (00 Si,not sure if that increases too)

How does insurance work in the states? Is it not government run?

I always see these ads for Geico.

Do you guys have to shop around for insurnace like you would for a house?

It's not government run. There are different companies competing and you can choose whoever you want. You can shop around to find the lowest rates, but some companies aren't as reputable as others and may not help you out as much when you get in an accident or whatever.

Wow $604 per year!!! I pay $1800 per year, 22yrs old. 2 points on driving record, and live in the 909 area of sunny SoCal.
