State (or Province) insurance is always supposed to be a better deal, but it always seems to work out to be more expensive than free market.

I'm paying $1800/year w/ $1000 collision deductable and $0 comprehensive deductable for my daily driver S2K. But that reflects reductions for multi-line and multi-car, and a surcharge for an accident I had in the spring (bounced the car off a couple walls at Pacific Raceways).

Oh, and I'm about 9000 years old, so none of that "under 25" stuff either.
