can anyone confirm if the intake is much louder with the hood pad removed or is it not noticable, i kind of like it there but i do love loud intake on the s2000

 

its noticeable.

 

The hood pad is a sound deaden-er(main reason it's there). So it will be louder if its removed.

 

Removing the airbox cover will increase the intake sound significantly, especially at higher rpms/Vtech. However, the OEM cover is there for two primary reasons. (1) Sound dampening, and (2)Reduce hot air entering the filter. You may notice a small decrease in performance if doing this "modification" in warmer temperatures.

Its related, if he's trying for more intake sound.
