Or instead of hacking up your garage door remote, putting it in a zip lock back and all that other silly stuff, just pay $90 and get this:

The flash thing will not work for me. My driveway is short so if I wait until I'm in it to flash I will have to wait on the door to open. If I flash while I am still on the street then I blind oncoming traffic. I plan to install my garage door opener under the dash and wire it up to the car (using a voltage regulator) then I'll use this switch:

It's a momentary switch that toggles both left and right with the center being "off". I have two garage doors so this should be perfect for controlling both.

i installed a small genie remote in the cabin light housing. after a few minor mods, it fits perfectly in there. i cant say it looks oem, but its very inconspicious and range is great, > 300 ft. my digital camera is broken, but i will try to take some pix and scan it.
