Saki said he tested with air blockage in the seat rests and then in the hoops. Saki has said blocking the hoops is much better, and I chose to believe those who have experimented before making the finished mod.

BTW, nobody has answered my question as to the exact type of material and what exact cutting device to use.

The difference is that blocking the hoops in the seats just wasn't as effective, but it does block air. If you block at the roll hoops, you keep more turbulent air out of the cabin. If you block at the seat hoops, the air is already in the cabin, so it goes around each side of the seat - the seat inserts are just smaller and less effective imo, but they do block air.

If you look in my instructions, I believe I stated plexiglass and even provided the Lowes sku.

That looks great! What kind of material did you use? Where did you get it? What did you use for the cutting?
I bought a small sheet of lexan from home depot for $7 and a hand saw for cutting metal. I just made very basic cuts and used 150 grit sandpaper to sand it down to fit tightly. I haven't had a chance to test it because it got really cold last night when I was done and it continues to be freezing today. I'll write my review when the weather gets above 55 again.

note: be careful with the handsaw as the lexan will crack if you get too rough with it.

Please understand that one purpose of all this talk about wind blockers is to find a way to be able to drive top down when it would otherwise be too cold. As you can see from the posts above, I have two convertibles -- and s2k and a Mercedes SLK 280 which has a retractable hard top and in fact IS a coupe at the push of a button. But I got a windblocker that works for it, and allows me to drive top down at times when the cold air would otherwise prevent this. Now, I'm looking for the best way to do the3 same for the s2k.

So the idea is to INCREASE top down time -- not to diminish it. On nice sunny 72 degree days, its windows down, top down, and forget about windblockers. Unfortunately, some of us have too few of such days.
Well I guess I can understand it then if you are trying to increase top down time. I was up in Yosemite a few weeks ago and when the dash thermometer read 38 degrees people sure looked at me funny with the top down. 2 weeks ago it was 34 and people again looked at me funny for having the top down, coming home from my cousins bday dinner.

Luckily I live in S. Cal where those temps don't happen often, on the East coast where it gets into the teens or less, I could see a windblocker there.

And I really wish we could get info on that center mounted windblocker back up, because id did look sharp!! It looked like the perfect compliment ot Saki's roll hoop blockers.

I was much like Rick's full size blocker, except that it came already attached to the mounting bracket, giving us a simple "bolt on job." The bracket came in various colors to match your interior, and the acrylic was etched with a Honda emblem.

I just looked briefly at it last night as I didn't have time to study it. Now, it's gone.

Please come back!!!!

The weather was nice enough last week that I was able to test out the roll hoop wind clockers. Going around 80 with windows down there is a noticeable reduction in turbulent air. However, with the windows rolled up the cabin becomes almost like a cocoon. I was able to carry on a normal conversation with the top down going 80+...who would have thought that? Thanks for the excellent write up sakiGT, definitely my favorite mod so far.

Hopefully this link will work for the ebay windblocker I saw. Some might think it is a bit ricey but seems like it would be functional and less money then some of the others.
