I know a lot of people don't share the same opinion as me maybe no one else.. But i think porches are some of the ugliest cars out their. I wouldn't get one on that basis alone. I don't know why but i find them extremely unattractive.

Great comparo - so much better to read than some forums where insecure fanboys are arguing over whose floormats are better.

Yeah, most threads involving the S2000 on other car sites involve two kinds of people: those who respect it for what it is, and those who think it's a POS because it's a torqueless Honda. Glad to see it was mostly the first type in that thread.

To the OP: nice C4S

I love my S2k for being raw and rev happy. Plus, not the typical ego car like a porsche is (in most cases).

If I need lightning speed, I'll buy another bike and rev to 15K to obtain power.

This reminded me of the that Hyundai Tiburon thread about the s2k, but in the opposite direction!

I recently had a '99 996 C4 Cab that I drove for about 3 years. It is a terrific car, and really a totally different car than the s2k. There is almost 300 hp, a very solid suspension, exceptional brakes, a very nice 6 speed trans, and all wheel drive with PSM (computer controlled stability) and e-gas. The 996 is a relatively raw sports car in a similar sense to the s2k. I DD'd mine for 9 mos/year, and was mostly very pleased with the car. As a driver's car, it is difficult to imagine a 'better' car.

I haven't spent enough time driving an s2k to render and opinion on comparisons. Suffice it to say that the s2k is a special car in its own right, but is substantially different than a 996, particularly the C4. However, I would venture to guess that the s2k is, dollar for dollar, a better overall value.

sadly,

i seem to encounter more of people who think it's just a torqueless honda.
and when i try to reason with them about... you know... turns, twisties... whatever you want to call them, they just look at me like, "so?"

haha. it's okay. let them hate. it's our car to enjoy anyway.
