Okay, that didn't work too well. I forgot my formatting would be messed up...just look at the link.

What I'm trying to point out is that the S-02PPs are inherently narrow, so Luis comparo between our OEMs and the PPs makes some incorrect assumptions!!

Notice that a 225/50/16 PPs have a tread width of 6.5" while the Porsche N3 (OEM) tire of the same size has a tread width of 8.1". That's a huge difference for two tires that are both 225s!! Oh, and I've looked at the tread width of other 225/50/16s and they seem to be closer to the Porsche than the PP.

Also notice in that link, that there a 3 Porsche OEMs listed (N1, N2, & N3) and also our Honda OEMs appear to be shown (the 89W and 92W tire) -- but without any specs!

Does anyone have a Porsche OEM and Honda OEM that can be compared??? If so we can probably extrapolate the specs for the Honda OEM tire!

I've got the Porsche N3 225/50ZR16 on the rear (by accident) and the Honda OEMs on the front

Do you know anyone else with an S2000 that lives nearby?

If not, then I need to come with some standard for measuring that's clear enoough so we both measure the exact same way.

Using some numbers from Luis (see his older tire post) I extrapolated some width "specs" for our Honda OEM S-02s: front = 5.9" & rear = 7.85". BUT keep in mind these numbers have an undetermined amount of ERROR (because Luis' rims are of a different width than the specs listed at Tirerack for his S-02PPs and because the Honda rims are a different width). These numbers might give us a hint to what the real numbers are (or at least the difference between the front and rear tire widths).

All of this comparison detail is a bit confusing. The bottom line is that the footprint of the stock 225 S02's is wider than any other 225, and is at least as wide as most 245's.

(I actually have measured several and the stock S02 rear is a hair wider than any 245 I have measured yet).
