Default Interesting thought

So heres my thoughts, typical drivetrain loss in an s2k is 15-18%, for here, were going to use 18%, because it works better, and its my thread

Given average of what ive seen for AP1 S2ks, Dyno numbers tend to be at about 200whp
200 x .18 = 236hp

Honda rated the S2k at 237hp from all 00-09 years

AP2, given the newer they are, the more power I see them making, Im not gonna throw around any more numbers because Im sure SOMEONES panties are already bunching up, BUT

AP2s tend to dyno higher than AP1s, mostly everyone will agree on that, moreover Ive seen some AP2s dyno as high as 215-220 stock, I think in one outlier case, IIRC I saw someone post an AP2 stock dyno at 227 or 230, this could have been on a magic dyno, or I could just not remember correctly, however with lets say an AP2 dynoing in at 210whp.
210 x .18 = 247.8hp

If you want to do the others for kicks and giggles
215 = 254
220 = 260
And Jesus' S2k (230) = 271hp

Now I know all the 'dont judge your cars power by another cars power from dynos' and all that business, but this is just vaguely speaking, do you think Honda actually did end up bumping the horsepower (unintentional or not) and for whatever reason left it advertised at 237? Naturally, Im gonna say really anything stock and over 215 is gonna be mostly because of the Dyno, TOP legit numbers will probably be in the 210-212 range IMO. But even so, that puts crank horsepower at 250.

Now im a 9k all day type guy but... AP2ftmfw?

thoughts?

AP2s' drivetrain is also at least 4 yrs newer. And in that four years, I think honda probably improved parts of it, either in strength and resistancey...(typo? lol) but ya, that might be another factor why AP2s are more efficient power wise

What he means is lowered the friction of certain moving components

u r basing your entire theory on dyno#'s posted on the internet?

i think the only assumptions (not proven) is that as a trend, we tend to see ap2 dyno a lil more than ap1. like 200-205whp for ap2 vs 195-200whp for ap1. while there are occasional anomalies thats all those are: anomalies (incorrect or differences between dynos or difference in environments).

There is definitely no case for this unless you ran 100 stock cars; 50 Ap1's and 50 AP2's with similar mileage on each car on a head to head dyno comparison and graphed the results.

Older motors are never as efficient. Ap1's drivetrains have been around for close to 10 years and many have a lot of miles on them now. I should hope a fresh motor with 10K miles on it would dyno a bit higher.
