Hey guys.. this has been bugging me for few days now.

Is this just me? I think I've seen few pictures of Red Interior that even dash board is RED. I also have seen red interior pictures with black dashboard. Is this related to US vs rest of the world deal?

In the US the 00 and 01 model years had the mixed red (black dash and black door with red insert. the 02 and 03 have the full red interior (everything red)

 

No...it's actually a yearly difference. 2000 & 2001 years have the red w/ black and the 2002 & 2003 years have the all red interior. And to complicate the matter more the 2004's will have red w/ black again. Most S2000 owners prefer the red w/ black over the all red...but to each his own.

For the people who say they like the black/red better, most have never seen the all red in PERSON. I have to admit before seeing it, I didn't like it either. It all changes in person.

 

I have a question for those with black interiors:

My ABS cover on the dash is way off in color from the rest of the dash, so much so, it's practically screaming "Look at me! I don't match!!!"

Dash is matt finish and a dark grey, ABS cover is almost black, and more shiny. Only thing used on the dash was 303 protectant.

 

stupid question here but does parts from all years interchange... ie: an 03 red dash would fit in my 00? also are any parts on the car different from year to year?

 

I think most parts are interchangeable and so yes you could put an 03 dash on a 00. Howerver there are some minor changes to tthe interior and exterior from year to year. Some of the differences between an 01 and a 02 are the 02 has tweeters, different radio (although same size), different shift knob, etc. etc.

 

Of course if you are industrious, and don't mind spending some cash you can MAKE the Black Red combo out of an '03
