Default Invidia Quick Question

I am contemplating on getting the new Invidia Titanium tip exhaust, as the wait for my Fujitsubo is just going to be way too long, and its been delayed already once.

My question is, I know the Invidia is going to be alot louder than the Fujitsubo.

My only concern is the drone. I hear alot of complaining about the 3500 to 4500 rpm range. Now is this drone only noticeable while cruising at that rmp range or when passing thru it, the reason I ask is that I do absolutely no highway driving here in miami, only stop and go all day long.

My previous car was a 2002 Ford Mustang GT with offroad H pipes(no cats). It would drone horribly between 3500 and 4000, but it only bothered me while cruising on the highway. thats the only time you would ever hear it, which I think I only did once or twice going to the race track. There was ways to get around it like crusing below or above the stated rpm ranges.

Will the invidia be similar in regards to the drone. Can anyone compare the loudness to a Ford Mustang V8 with no cats, I am not looking for sound comparisons here, only loudness. Thanks.

I am going to order it tommorow possibly.

The invidia will drone around 3500 rpm. The volume of the drone is almost too loud to carry out conversation with the passenger in the car(especially with the top up) I do not have much experience with other aftermarket exhausts, but I could see why the drone would drive most people crazy on highway trips. You can control the drone with the throttle, such as going when going up slight hills on the highway, but I often found myself annoyed by the drone. You may wan to do a search about people modifying the midpipe canister to get rid of the unpleasant sound.

You can put in the silencers to get rid of about 70 percent of the booming. I did use my silencers when I went on long trips. I often wondered if silencers take away any of the performance gains of the exhaust.

Now for the good. I think the exhaust is the best looking dual around. The sound in vtec will put a big grin on your face. Despite the drone, I am thinking about buying another one for my MY04. I am also looking at the Fujitsubo. I have heard from others that this exhuast does not drone, but I assume that it does not sound as raw in vtec. Some have said that it is very deep and bassy sounding. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the insight big worm.

I am going to order it regardless, if I cant stand the drone, I will just go about modifying the stock mid pipe to make it fit with the Individia as others have done. I have a good muffler shop I deal with, and I can get an exhaust system for cheap from any of the salvage yards down here.

As for the drone, I hope I can control it by staying out of a certain rpm range. I dont do any highway cruising, and I ride about 90% of the time with the top down.

I can always use the silencers as well. Time to order.

I am ordering from Jeff at evolution through the group buy.

The droaning only bothers me when I have someone in the car and trying to talk. It can be controlled by throttle input, just crack it open and it goes away. I finally put in the silencers a few weeks ago and pulled them out before the last auto-x. I probably won't put them back in since it's just not as fun. If you don't have to do any highway driving then I wouldn't worry about it. For the price you can't find anything better as far as quality and appearance.
