Issues for tall drivers
I just returned from test driving an S2000 and, in spite of all I've read here and elsewhere, still nothing prepared me for the actual experience. Are other cars in this price range so refined, responsive, powerful and beautiful? Driving the S2000 has made me more determined than ever to own one.
I'm starting a new post because I haven't found any coverage of the specific problems I noticed and that are a direct result of my size. I'm 6'4" and 215 pounds with a 34" inseam and size 13 shoes.
1. The least significant problem was how close the dead pedal is to the clutch pedal. Since my foot is a little wide it rests partially on the clutch pedal even when I don't want it to. This is not really a big deal but I would be happy to hear from anyone else who noticed and what they did about it.
2. Next in degree of severity is the short distance between the steering wheel and the door handle. I was not able to flex my left knee fully because it doesn't squeeze between this narrow passage. My thought here is to come up with a handle that doesn't jut out as much. Has anyone else dealt with this?
3. The worst problem was the impaired forward vision caused by the fabric that runs along the top of the windshield. A tall person like myself ends up looking directly at this band of material instead of at the road. I tried moving the seat forward and then reclining the back but it didn't seem to help very much. I'm hoping to address the problem by lowering the seat. Does anyone know whether it's possible to lower the seat?
Thank you in advance for helping to make this beautiful car work for me.

Dierk,
Big feet are a problem. I usually drive barefooted or with some special shoes that have a narrow sole. As for height, it is possible to adjust the seat somewhat with combinations of fore-aft and tilt. Good luck.

I'm 6'3" 190, and haven't had a problem with comfort/visibility. I have my seat pushed all the way back and reclined in its max position. Suits me just fine! (I was initially worried about the fit before I purchased the car...but no worries)

Can't help you with the big feet but:
Some have succesfully lowered the seat. I'm 6'4" and got what I needed by removing the visors (they do nothing anyway) and removing the coat hooks behind the seat. Then push the seatback hard and you'll get another inch of arm room.
If you do remove the coathooks you might get some squeaking which I've eliminated with felt.
