LED galore etc... part II
After the effort documented at https://www.s2ki.com/forums/showthread.php?...?threadid=29422 I finally got around to tie some loose ends and install a few more bits & pieces.
First was the Alpine remote. It complements the dash controls allowing me to seek or select stations by number, change CDs and power on and off the unit.
Here is a picture:
I used a fiber optic cable that runs from just in front of the remote all the way to the headunit sensor. Tiny drilled holes house the tips of the naked fiber that runs thru the centre tunnel. It works like a charm, and could be used to operate the headunit anywhere, including the trunk.
Next was lining the a-pillars in leather (looks great). The challenge was the side windows ventillation grills, but they were removed and replaced with speaker mesh to great effect (see above).
A little led light (a 3V hi intensity LED connected thru a 500ohm resistor) now helps with key insertion in those dark and gloomy nights (still needs a little cover to reduce blinding):
The smartire system went into the cup holder:
Finally added footwell lighting (thanks to 1Y2KS2K for the idea):
Some more pictures of these last two mods can be seen at: https://www.s2ki.com/forums/showthread.php?...5340#post385340
I think I had enough of interior mods. I may consider lining the plastic cover on top of the windshield in leather and even a full leather dash, but that may be more work that I can bear.
Lowering seats (but how? anyone got any good ideas?).

Luis,
Nice work! Is the led powered off the light circuit so that it's activated when the door is opened? I assume it's in a 12-volt circuit with the 500 ohm resistor lowering it to 3?

Luis.
You never cease to amaze me with your ingenuity! Very nice job - and I especially like the lighted footwells; great idea (whoever thought of that one?).
There are quite a few threads on lowering seats. Search for gche37, who did his a while ago. There's also mention there that Kings have a seat lowering bracket (pricey at $350) which may be what you're looking for. Their page is http://www.kingmotorsports.com/products/mu...0/interior.html (I'm not sure if this is only for Mugen seats or whether it works on the OEM seats too.)
