Well whatever that guy was running, he beat my tail. Not bad... but I never thought that I would see the day when a Honda other than the NSX would beat me.

The other day I ran with an 04 TL and those things are fast as hell. I was like "WTF". I had to give it all I got just to get ahead of this guy. Those things have so much torque!

Torque is a real killer sometimes! Just pray for the high end to hit and pull away!

Okay lets break this argument down. In completely stock form the S2000 is faster than the ITR. I have driven many stock examples on several tracks and the better gearing, wider tires, 45 more hp and most importantly RWD easily make up for the 200 # difference. Now add the equivalent modifications to both cars and again the S2000 will win. Sure Pierre is fast in World Challenge, however S2000 are not allowed in the Touring class so there is no way to make a comparison there.
I think it is amusing that you say you can only go so far with the S2000 because of its limitations of a weak diff and high compression motor. An ITR also has a high compression motor so why is the S2000 so limited while the ITR isn

i saw that video and i believe they commented about how the s2000 wasn't fully broken in yet. but the ITR is a very competant car and can hang with the s2000 if driven by a good driver.

btw i raced a 97-98 ITR(it was championship white) and I pulled on it hard, both cars stock. 195 hp vs 240 hp, 2800 pds vs ???...it should tell you something.

EDIT: sorry just realized he was asking for race track experiences

97's were a bit slower. My 01 weighed in at 2556 with a 1/4 tank of gas.

Some of the ITR guys have gotten into the very low 14's stock. Stock for stock the ITR stands a chance even in a drag race.

Sure you can put a LSD, slicks, big rear swaybar, stiff rear springs or whatever else you want, in the end you are still driving the wrong wheels. I am not going to write a book here to explain the physics why a RWD platform is better than FWD when it comes to racing because you still wouldn

is it true that later b18c5's found in the 98+ and newer ITR's came with higher profile cam shafts, resulting in ~+5whp?
Yes -- or at least the part numbers are different.
