i understand the lug nuts but why the seat bolts? Do people really steal the seats? I dont plan on leaving the top down while its parked, so they would have to cut the roof or break into the car somehow. I'm putting in an alarm that has infrared sensors to let me know if somebody is in the cockpit.
Spa Rules!
Believe me, many of us waited, and waited, and waited. I know all about the sleepless nights. I fell in love with the car when it was a concept in 1996>1997 and I never bought until 2002.....
I will admit, this forum was very helpful in getting through the wait.
Good luck!
Nice pic! Im getting the hard top option as well I love the way the car looks with that on but I wonder how much I'll actually use it down here in Florida. The dealer will sell it to me at $1,800 so Im getting it (ill always regret not having it later)
Ganthet, I don't know your area in FL, but my experience in the southern states has been almost too oppressive for top-down motoring during summer. I'm not sure a hard-top really matters for that, but your soft top will take a beating. Convertible ownership in hot climes has its challenges.
Winter (especially now) will be wonderful!
In any case, I wish you the best. The sensation of anticipation you describe is a not-so-distant memory for me, and a fond one at that.

There was a guy in Texas who's top was slashed and a seat was stolen. There was also a group buy for some seat bolts in the area. So, I figure a little more safety would be nice. But that alarm would be good to have.
The longer you have the theif in your car the greater the chance of getting caught, right?
Heh..well i think they must be making soft tops better these days. Ive not seen too many in bad shape around here. My boss has a 6 yr old Chrylser rag top and the top looks fine even though her leather and dashboard have gone to hell
Is there anythign I can use on the rag top to keep it healthy?
Just be happy you don't have to wait until next fall to get one. That's my current predicament. Luckily I haven't driven one yet. If I did I'd do something really bad finanicially-wise.
