yes, but can you find one that is priced at $33K that can do that?? if not, then you are comparing apples to oranges. we all know that there are WAY better cars out there, but for most of us, it is the amount of performance, technology, and fun for the relatively small sum of money that impresses us, and drives us to purchase one. remember, you may be a gazillionaire, but most of us here are not. if i was, then i would be driving a 360 modena and not an s2000.

i can't imagine anyone ever saying that to me, cuz i never brag or take pride in my s2k. i merely see it as an extremely fun and relatively inexpensive little car. but if someone WAS to say that to me, i'd reply by saying "yes, i realize that," and then ask him/her what brand of car impresses him/her. i'd then challenge him/her to find a new vehicle of that brand priced at no more than $33K and invite him/her to go on a spirited run through some mountain roads to see if he/she can keep up with me in that car.

Once they get a ride in the S2000, they change their mind.

But, I bought it because it was a Honda.

1. Incredible performance and a beautiful car! (No it's not an accord, it's an S2000)

2. Very reliable car (makes it superior to most American Brands)

3. Great fit and finish (ditto)

4. Reasonable maintenance (don't have to pay Antonio or Franz mega bucks for annual service)

When I hear it's only a Honda from someone, I know they haven't driven it and/or they are too proud to admit they got ripped off with their non-Honda product.

yeah, plus people need to realize that it's not WHAT they drive that really matter, but how well they can drive what they drive. i can honestly say that i've been on joy rides through mountain roads in a honda accord and left my buddies in the dust in their fancy sportscars.

I usually look at them when they say, "It's only a Honda" and I say...

"Oh my God, are you serious, I thought it was a Toyota, and here I've been driving it all this time"

Then I smile and walk away.

We've owned an Audi and even some BMWs.

But I'm fine with it being a Honda; not removing my H badges.

My comment is not funny or clever, it is spoken in a condescending tone of voice, just like the one they have chosen to share with me.

I started following Formula One racing back in the Senna era. That was a time when McLaren Honda owned the world. Although Honda no longer holds that kind of supremacy in F-1 now days, they clearly have had a great deal of success in Champ Cars - CART, and all forms of motorcycle racing.

When someone says It's only a Honda... I reply along the lines that if they followed motorsports in any way, they would realize how completely wrong they are about the insinuation that Honda is not a premium manufacturer.
