Jack for the track?
Hope you and your S 2000s are doing well:
Those of you who put your S on the track, what jacks do you bring along?
I'm strongly considering the Omega low profile jack for my garage at home, but am thinking that (at 42 inches long) it ain't gonna fit in the back. Clearly, I'm a newbie to the track thing, but I'm excited about it. Thanks for any suggestions.

I just use the low profile aluminum harbor freights jack, if your car is really low and you want to use central points, you bring one good floor jack and one small crappy jack just to get it high enough so you can access the central points.
The HF squeaks like hell, but it's small and good enough to use as a decent mobile floor jack.

i was thinking about getting one of the aluminum low profile jacks for home use, but then i realized that even that wouldn't be able to get to the front center jacking point, so it kinda defeated the purpose for me at home. i just ended up getting a regular heavy duty jack and still will use my old small jack to get the clearance, or drive up on 2x4's
For those with lowered cars, this one's excellent.

For track days that I drive my S2000 to, I use the OEM jack with a couple jack stands. Doesn't take that long to lift up a single wheel, though I don't trust it to lift two wheels. If I trailer my car to a track weekend, I bring my semi-low profile BlackJack, which weights quite a bit but can easily lift up tow wheels.

post some links, I really need to invest in a low profile jack.

Even with the drop I have on my car it reaches all the way in to the center jack point, front or rear, no 2x4, no pre-jacking, no hassle.
The only downside is that it's freaking HUGE, which is no matter for home use, but you can forget taking it to the track unless you have a trailer.
I'll probably consider getting a small jack for the track next year. I already have a small jack, but it's not low enough to get under the jacking points.

My wife got me a great one from Costco, 3.5" height, but it weighs WAY too much to haul around. I am just going to get a sissor jack (stronger that honda's) to take with me.
To me, other than pulling a wheel or swapping pads/rotors, serious repairs at the track are not likely to happen unless you are bringing a support vehicle to put eveything you could possibly need. Are you guys seriously throwing a 36-42" floor jack that weighs 75-100lbs in the S along with everything else?

You can always find cheaper, lighter alternatives to the Omega. The one I listed is best suited as a shop jack or hauled on your trailer to the track. Something like this cheaper model would work, but does not have the versatility of the Omega or similar style jacks. It really comes down to personal preference.
