Default Jacking points?

Yes, yes, I did the search, but even with those points, I can't seem to get the jack under the car to raise it up?

You mean the side-rail jack points? Or front and rear points? Is your car lowered?

If your jack won't go under the sides, use the screw jack in the toolkit, or drive it onto 2x4s, etc. No jack I know of will lift the car from the front point (but it can be lowered from there). The rear jack point is the diff.

Here is a link to a thread of one that will fit the front jack point.

I think either...

This is the first time I've tried to change the oil. I can't find the side ones. The manual or on here said that there are arrows pointing to the point and I can't find it. Is the undercarriage repainted or something on people's S's? I wonder when I got this, which was used, the guy got some kind of undercarriage spray.

There are two reinforced points on each side of the car. They are about 3-5" away from the tires. If you feel them, they are thicker then the rest of the "lip" as you can see.

That jack link I post is far more then $40 (More like 440), and I use something like your walmart special.

I bought a 10' long 2x6. I cut it into four pieces. Two slightly longer than then other. When cutting them I cut the edges at a 45 deg angle. I then screwed the shorter ones to the longer ones. (Sorry no pix.) Basically I have made ramps. The 2x6s give me 3" of lift when I drive the car up onto them. I beveled the leading edges of the 2x6s to ease the car up onto them and to help prevent them from being pushed by the car, instead of being lifted. Now my floor jack fits nicely under the front bumper and I can lift the center of the car.

Find those side jack points though, so you have a place to put jack stands. NEVER get under a car without jack stands.

I made ramps out of 2 x10s

If you make 4 of these, and drive up on them, you can get the jack under the car. You might not need to jack the car up for an oil change with these, but if you do, never, never go under the car without jackstands. As has been mentioned, cars fall off jacks.

You might want to install one of these You will find more information at www.fumotovalve.com With this installed you never have to elevate the car to change the oil. Everything is done from above. When I changed my oil I drove the drivers side of the car (front and back) onto the first level of the ramps to tilt the car. This assures that all of the old oil will drain out via the fumoto valve.

once you start jacking from the side points, you will never want to screw around with board ramps again...

Have you guys thought about using Rhino ramps for changing the oil? They're purposely designed for sports cars with low fascias and ride height. Its much safer and easier then jacking the car. They carry them at Wal mart and pep boys for $30 bucks a set. I have a front lip splitter and my ramps even clear those when driving up onto them. Ive had no problems with them when changing the oil upon my S2k.
