Could Jiffy Lube be sued for this? If you installed hidden cameras on the car then find out they didn't do the work could you use that video footage in a civil lawsuit?
Sure, but only if they refused to reimburse you. Jiffy Lube reimbursed the TV channel, or at least said they would. I would hope that criminal charges will be pending.

Even then a civil suit would only be worth the parts-n-labor. No other damages possible unless you blow your fuel pump at a later date from running on a clogged filter.

Now a class action suit would be interesting for Jiffy Lube and some lawyers at least.

this was in so. cal (where i live) and it's old news. Jiffy lube has fired all the employee who appeared on that video. I don't think there was any law suit file but this was pretty big deal back then. I would never take my car there though. Overprice and non-experience mechanics = DISASTER.

I wasn't aware it was old news. I apologize if it was posted earlier.
I have never taken my car to Jiffy Lube and never will.

I like how the mechanic marked the fuel pump in the tank and not the fuel filter under the car.

Why does one shop represent thousands of Jiffy Lubes across the country

yeah, you caught that one too! I used to own a Grand Cherokee and it was about half way up the frame rail on the passenger side.

Why would you criticize the story without even watching it?

Sorry, I'll admit that I haven't watch the video yet because I'm at work. Is it like a study of Jiffy Lubes across the country or something? Because from the comments, it appears like it's just one store where a lot of bad stuff happened.

I think my point still stands
