Default jiffy lube

well i took my car to jiffy lube i used to work there so i know everyone there.

i give them 30 bucks for a synthetic oil change (first time letting anyone other than me touch the car) every thing seems good i watched them for the majorty of it but i go in my car to start it for them and i stayed in it for the rest.

well the other day i go to wash my car and i pull it out of the garage and i see a bunch of oil so i pop my hood and start looking for leaks. i could find anything and just as i was about to close my hood i see that there is no oil cap!!!!

Mind you its been a few weeks and ive drivin 1000 miles since.

so i call them up and they tell me to bring it down there, at first they thought i was joking. they bought me a new cap redid the oil change and then cleaned my engine bay.

im just pissed but its good to know that the s2000 doesnt spray the oil everywhere when the cap is off. it was only about a half a qt low

You were lucky this time, you might not be so lucky next time! Do it yourself or take it to a trusted shop.

Hey don't bonk jiffy lube man. I work there too and our service station has been the top in the district for the last 2 years. I'm surprise they forgot to put the cap on. We're suppose to do it when we turn the car on after adding the oil to check for leaks. Also a senior service tech is suppose to perform an upper bay quality inspection on everything under the hood and make sure all caps are on and tight before shutting the hood and driving the car out.

I wasn't referring the comment to you. I just wanted everyone else to know since some ppl are so biased against jiffy lube.

Wow. Good to know it didn't completely go below the minimum oil.

But yeah, stuff like this is why I do my own work; generally speaking, the same level of care isn't exhibited by others.

I'm sure there are great jiffy lubes, but I've seen the aftermath of bad ones and it only takes one screwup.
