You are one lucky dude. The human factor always comes into play. I know a local luxury car dealer where a tech actually didn't put in a new oil filter and cranked the car up. Talk about a messed up engine bay. He has done this more than once!!

 

Jiffy Lube sucks, all of them... YEA I SAID IT, ALL of them..
Everyone I know whos gone there never goes again, horrible customers service and they always try to get u to buy more... Worse then buying a car.

that stupid 20/20 thing was all based in the Compton CA area and thier statistics of being ripped off also included stupid stuff like not checking tires and not filling the battery water!! oh NOOOO

theres a scene in that video where they say jiffy lube charged them for a fuel filter but before hand they suposobly marked the fuel filter. and anyone that know anything about cars knows that they marked the fuel pump.

seriously i would not lie about a stupid part time job i had. yes there are alot of shady jiffy lubes but you can tell as soon as you pull up weather its going to be a good experiance. ever since that 20/20 story the procedures changed. we sign and date the oil filters. most of them keep camras and a tv in the waiting room for them to watch.

we had a lady come in and go across the street to eat. by the time she came back we were done and she was pissed and she said we never even opend the hood. so we take her up stairs and rewind the video and show her that we did the oil change. all she had to say is wow you guys are fast

im not saying take your cars there. personally i wouldnt either if i had not worked there in the past. but i dont see the point in telling people not to go because you say somting the media showed you .

 

Its not based of media, well mine isn't... Bad experiences with them, my friends as well...
Not only that they do hire people right off the street...

To argue even more, they try to push to get things replaced that aren't needed...

20/20 or the station is not gonna do a report on dealerships. why because of how much money car companys spend on advertising with that station.. say abc did a report on a honda dealership about the stuff they do.. do you think that dealership or honda will advertise with them.. its all bout money
other than that.. jiffy lube is pretty bad.. i had a friend work at one.. all the guys there including the manager smoke weed together after work lol
