R&D and other facilities probably have different setups. R&D, from what i understand, has a heavy ass roller that's good for more than a thousand horses (UL correct me if i'm wrong) and they do a lot of muscle cars there (i've seen vipers, heavily modded corvettes, turbo supras, etc.)

i think the key elements i want to stress about JR filter are as follows:

- whether it be Import Development or any other 3rd party, dyno sessions with the JR filter has always been positive in terms of output and consistency - but i do agree with ryan that dyno numbers don't mean everything.

- Per dollar wise, this is the best bang for the buck ($55 plus shipping for 2.x HP gain)

- the construction of the JR filter elements differ from K&N's setup. when i get a chance i'll post how K&N fab their filter element mesh vs. how JR fab their filter element, and i honestly believe JR has a better fabrication process.

- Germany's TUV lab has independently tested JR vs. K&N filters, and i'm still trying to get the reference number and the article so you can look it up for yourselves. i've posted the results before, but people did question the validity, so i'll have to prove it.

Steve,

I forgot to mention this to you, but the numbers from a first run on a dyno usually are thrown away. The car probably isn't at perfect operating spec, and usually needs the first run to get there. The second run is usually the one that really indicates what power you have.

Hmmmm.... We both had low first readings and both changed things for the second run. I probably should not have changed the fp prior to the second run to really feel confident about what was the true situation, I think.
