Cool Just Dyno'd stock 2003 S2000

Hey guys,

Ive had my s2k for about 3 days now and finally changed the engine oil (to redline non-synthetic) and oil filter.

Thought i might as well do a dyno run since it has only done 20k KM.

I was quite surprised at the results, i thought it would been a little higher.

Here it is;

190 hp at the wheel
195 Nm Torgue at 7.5k revs

btw it was only 1 run.

All in all im very happy with the car, its my first performance car and im very excited to learn from this forum.

This is a Jap spec s2k, speed limited at 180 kmh (but will soon have this sorted out)

Let me know your comments on the above figures, your views would be much appreciated.

I even made a video which i will upload later - showing the dyno run.

and here is the link
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ccjDNOfgXcE

Thx.

Every dyno will read differently. I'd say anything from 180 to 210 is probably within the margin of error. My Exige S when it was stock dynod at 227 at the wheels on a Dyno Dynamics dyno and it's rated at 220hp at the crank by the factory. The only useful purpose I see a dyno having is to see the difference pre / post mods and for tuning.

does it matter what gear you use to dyno? i know 1 and 2 would not make any sense, but what about 3rd?

For this dyno run it was in 4th.

Very dyno dependent. What kind of dyno was it? 190-195whp is pretty average for an ap1 on a DynoDynamics.

i couldnt really tell you what dyno was used, i was just too excited about doing a dyno for the first time - jst says DASTEK DYNAMOMETERS (if that helps).

But was just nice to see what the car was capable of doing - all in all im happy with it. Ill post up some pics soon, its pretty dirty as i live in a hot and wet country!

That's nice..

Like everyone else said, dyno's are good for before n after.. How do you know it wasn't a mustang dyno at 4k feet above sea level.
