I'll be sure to link back to your post when your over conficance gets you involved in a crash.

love it when people post stuff like that... karma will get you in the end.
to op, i did something similar (although i think my damage was probably a lil more extensive) and it ended up around 4k at the end of it. after repairs everything is fine, although it took them a MONTH to finish
'still haven't seen if my rates will go up. for those interested, i just turned 25, and i'd been on the car for 6+months when i did it back in Feb.
alsoooo... did you have VSA off? cause i thought that was there to prevent you doin things like this.
go with insurance man the cost of suspension damage is going to be a surprise once they take it apart... you may have cracked your rack and pinion which happens to be electronic and costs roughly $600 new with a hook up.... not to mention control arms and other components effected.

We've seen this since day one of the car being sold. To be quite blunt, often times, complex machinery should be kept out of the hands of incompetent people. Unfortunately, there's no competency test when buying a car.

thx for the thoughts & opinions. maybe I need to learn to drive =/
A lot of people seem to think that because they have been piloting cars around for a while they are somehow magically immune from the general laws of the universe. In particular, it's hard to have advanced skills if you never learn them.
I learned more in my first few performance driving classes than I had in over 15 years of driving my own cars around. That's why they teach classes, because they are efficient learning mechanisms.
They are also great fun, and if you get into it they can lead to lots more fun and learning. I'm now a track school instructor, even though (just like you), I crashed my S2000 within a month of buying it (in almost the exact same way you did -- because I just didn't know then what I do know now).

thanks for making me cough up my morning tea
