Thanks guys!! Still wondering about the 3rd gear slight grind around 8k?? Is this typical for 8 yr old s2k?? any concerns about it?

Maybe changing the tranny oil will help.

I would use Honda MTF.. the new stuff with the green cap. No reason to use GM anymore IMO.

Tranny: Honda MTF
Diff: Lubrication Engineers 1605, Mobil 1 75W90 in the dead of winter or if you live in the north pole.
Engine: Mobil 1 10w30, or any other quality synthetic
clutch/brakes: whatever..

Congrats on the car! Check your oil at every other fillup, just like the manual says. This is very important, especially if you're VTEC-ing all the time. Like S2kotty says; it'll drink oil like crazy in VTEC, especially a 2000. I had a 2001 and had to have my bottom end replaced for being an idiot and not checking my oil.
