Newb Q: I was wondering what everyone's rpm is when your driving at 80 mph on the highway. I know this car is a high revving car but I'm at 5k rpm. Is this normal?
The car is a joy to drive but I drive mostly highway so...

 

that seems normal. or i think it could be a bit less. i asked the question too when i was first driving but its normal as ive seen. in 6th going like 70 im at like 4k i believe..

 

all I know is my MY03 80mph in 6th gear is exaclty 4500RPM

 

At 4k, i'm at 77-78 mph.

5k at 80 mph sounds a little high imo. There is a mph setting that can be adjusted up or down a few mph. That may have something to with it. Mine is not adjusted either way.

 

Or it may be geared...

 

you might have gotten free gears with your purchase.

5k RPM@80mph --> 8200@ 131mph, not 155mph.

Darn... I don't like the new gears ;( since I do mostly highway riding... but I guess it doesn't make a big difference. What's a good word to search under b/c "gearing" gives me some bs info.

 

Yep. If you're precisely at 5K in 6th gear at 80mph, you have a 4.77 final drive .
