Just a Honda
It is.
To be honest though, most of the Z guys I've met (and I love Zs btw) fall into the same category as the mustang folk I met in attitude (and I love the newer stangs too), but the demographic tends to be different.
That car show thing is just ridiculous, but that's what happens when you live in nebraska.

I was talking to someone the other day, and when they asked about gas mileage, I told him, and he's like, "That's it? Uses that much gas? I thought Civics were better on gas....."
I feebly attempted to tell him that it isn't the same engine, but I didn't bother.
I offered another friend a shot at driving my S, and he's like, "Nah, it'll be the same as my RSX. Maybe after I sell it and I'm dying to drive stick again...." I thought that was a diss, but oh well.
I guess at the end of the day, it doesn't matter, as long as you still love the car. I could have gone the snobby prestigious route, but I chose to forgo any kind of "badging", and bought what I've always wanted - a cheap little convertible with character.

I have not had anyone say that to me as of yet, but if someone did I would just respond, "you know what... it IS just a Honda, and I love it!". I would imagine people only say that to justify why our cars aren't better than theirs. Anyone who would even say something like that are probably not people I would want to associate with anyways, I mean seriously who verbally degrades other people's possessions just for the sake of it!? That is the epitome of an a-hole.
I've received all compliments so far, including from people in "luxury" cars so I have no beef as of yet!

Most people don't recognize it as a Honda. I also get the dirty looks from people who think it's something exotic, LOL. Or, girls asking for a ride in the Corvette. It seems like guys in huge duallys and lifted trucks get excited at any opportunity to ride the bumper of small sports cars, as well.
I stopped caring about any sort of branding image when I put Euro Honda badges on my old NSX.
Now that confused people.
The S2K is a great car, Honda or not. I've never had anyone look down on it because it's a Honda. Usually it's: "Honda built THAT?!"
