Just a Honda

If you really care about what others think. Consider 99% of the people in everyday life have no clue what our cars are and interpret them to be rare or super cool. So who the "F" cares about the less than 1% of the population who has something negetavie( and usually untrue) to say about S2Ks. Hopefully this helped those who feel the need to be accepted by everyone

The reason I went for an S over the Boxter or Mustang or Z3 or Z4 or Miata, was the fact that I didn't see one everyday. You can drive from my house to downtown and probably see 4 boxters, 8 mustangs, at least either a Z3 or Z4 and about 4 dozen miata's..., And I live 20 K from downtown.
I see perhaps one S2000 a week. (If I'm luckey) :-)

I went to O'rielly's 2 nights ago to buy a compression tester... while I was at it I figured I would go ahead and replace my spark plugs. I ask the guy behind the counter if he has the OEM plug (gave him the model #)... he tells me that he only has the "Champion" version, so I tell him not to worry about it and that I would just torque my old plugs into spec and order some new ones online. He says "You actually use a torque wrench to install your plugs? That's pointless. I just tighten mine down and they are fine."
I'm simply amazed at the stupidity of this comment, so I tell him that the engine is very touchy to torque values and that things tend to back out/crack if not properly torqued down. He asks me what kind of engine it is, so I tell him it's an F20C. He says "What's that, some little honda or toyota?" I smiled at the wall behind him for a few seconds, giggled a bit, look at him and said "Yeah, it's just some little honda".... grabbed my stuff and walked out.
The moral of my story is that most people who have the opinion that it's just some little honda (the kind of people who want to call it a miata) typically don't know crap... like the guy who just tightens down his spark plugs with a socket wrench and calls it a day. You can't expect them to understand or respect the car. I think this guys sister was pregnant with his baby anyway.

Hey it is just a honda..., but that is fine with me. I had the image proble, was looking at a Saturn Sky Redline but just couldn't get around the fact that it is brought out here by Saturn. In Europe they are the Opel GT. If I could have gotten one with the Open branding I might have taken it. Instead I took an S2000 and am so happy I did.
