Just installed 4.56 gears
Stop and go traffic today with the gears and I was engaging at very low rpms with second gear and no bogging.
MPG wise, I think I'm suffering here. I used to get 21-24 mpg. I've been getting 17-21 mpg now. I'm going to try to use higher gears this time. I'm noticing that when I used to cruise in 4th or 5th, I can be another gear up. Did this coming home from work today and I think I can improve my mpg now that I am changing my shifting habits. So used to wanting to stay in 3rd and 4th, but now I can bump up to 5th and 6th.

With the stock final drive I kept the rpms around 4k rpms so that I would be in a better sweet spot when driving around town and I got around 21-24 mpg. I think sticking to this habit still is causing my MPG to suffer more than it needs to. Since the rpms rise a lot quicker now, I find my selft jumping to vtec from 4k rpms quicker than before so now I'm turning it down a notch and hanging around 3k or less rpms and the car still pulls quickly at under 3k rpms. I hope changing this driving habit is going to get my MPG back up there.
Under 3000 rpms and no bogging!!!

Here's an easy and informational site -->> gear calculator
you can plug in the gear ratio and rpm and get a speed.

Take this for what ever you want. Its more for experimental testing and fun.
I'm an avid driving sim gamer and I did some virtual speed test playing Enthusia Professional Racing for the Playstation 2. Stock final drive vs 4.56 final drive accelleration testing. The way I conducted this test was with the aid of a video capture card to record my straight away run displaying my speed and time. I recorded both runs, stock vs 4.56 and then replayed the video back in slow motion and pausing at particular speed points to mark down times. I made a list of the times in an excel sheet and the list are pretty accurate speed times to their real life counterparts in stock form. After work I can post the video and the data sheet if people sound interested. But for now, this is what I have to report on.
0-60 4.56s are .28 secs faster 5.5 secs
0-110 4.56s are .33 secs faster
0-120 4.56s are .4 secs faster
I don't remember the times because I did this test over the weekend, but I think 0-60 was 5.62 as opposed to 5.9.
Remember it is just a game, but
Enthusia Professional Racing for the Playstation two is suppose have gone through rigourious development to record and simulate the virtual cars to their real life counterparts. And it does a fine job of it.

Finally I got a stable set up for my camcorder in my S2000. No mounting kit, just a nice snug fit right behind my left ear. Camcorded some video last night, but the battery wasn't charged so didn't get much video. BUT now that I have this ready, I will go do some highway runs and give you guys a taste of the sound inside the cabin and see where the rpms will be during highway cruising.
