in the first 4 gears of the AP2, the gearing is higher (revs faster) so with the 4.56 final, it turns into 4.7 or so only for the first 4 gears. 5 and 6 are the same for AP1 and AP2.

so is that good? will it be as fast as the AP1 with gears?

it will rev even faster than the ap1 for the first 4 gears, but since they have a higher redline, it's unsure which is faster overall.

On my drive home today...Whoooehohoha I am still crazy about them...I still laugh to myself at the dramatic change the gears have provided to driving the S2000 (The way it was intended to be driven). I am noticing myself braking harder now going to need new brake pads if I don't cut down on accellerating.
I can't contain myself and I just want to accellerate out of stops and turns. Second gear is so much more usable!

Another good thing:

Moving through traffic is a lot easier now because I'm able to better utilizing the engine revs to slow me down since the effects have been enhanced with the new gears. This lets me dart through traffic more efficently without having to use up the brakes to slow myself down much.

which ones would be reccomended for a daily driven s2000, 4.56 or 4.57? which ones would have the faster acceleration? i haven't played gran turismo in a while lol.

I would think about this mod, but I think the car is geared too low for freeway driving as it is. With stock gears I'm turning right at 4K @ 75MPH (pretty normal highway speed out west). What are the revs at that speed with the new gears? I'm also thinking with these gas prices I'm not too hot on the idea of lowering my milage. Tony

its crazy how many people are still skeptical about gears. the car is geared high even for fwys in 6th, but it's fine. if you want low revs on the fwy, get a different car.

Now if only someone (Rick are you listening?) would produce a 6th gear that would work in conjunction with the 4.56 or 4.77 to drop the the rpms the motor turns at highway speeds to make for comfortable long distance highway driving...say a good rpm drop of 800 rpm or so at 70 mph.

this has nothing to do with a ring and pinion set. What you're suggesting is actually going into the transmission and changing out the 6th gear for a new one. This would cost LOTS of money, to accomplish so little. The amount of gas you'd save would take probably 10 years to benefit from the cost of the install.
